Tobacco Lunch
This is an onetime door to what was a lunch counter in the American Tobacco Campus in Durham , NC . The doorway is less than six pes improbable and is tuck away in the corner under one of the stairwell . The entire campus has been recast , but some of the tuck away areas like this were leave in their deteriorated state .

A Touch of Patriotism
shlep through historical downtown in lookup of doors with the most unique qualities did n’t get me very far with this challenge . I chose this basic doorway shot with a splash of patriotism and lots of bold texture – dim-witted , but representative of the suburban Northeast . Nikon D3000 , f9 , 1/125

To Narnia!
We were waiting at the Johnstown , PA Amtrak station to pick up a Quaker and his train was delayed by an minute , so we started ramble and shooting pictures . The train track is elevated 20 foot off the land on a cementum social organization , about 3 feet wider than the tracks , and there was this all random , indoor - styled door in the concrete . It seemed probable to go to a wizard kingdom , Narnian or Vernian perhaps .

Afterwards
This menacing photo was document at an abandoned massacre house in a small , isolated town in South Dakota . The lip - unhorse shadowy figure of speech walking toward the light looks like attempt something . Redemption ? Perhaps another victim ? No one spill about what work on there so we do n’t really hump .
We had a LOT of fun snap this stage set ! The lighting was staring and the somber muffled colour suggest a sort of former vitality . There is so much you could do with a wireless newsbreak and a tripod ( or handheld , as in this case ) . I like exploring and shooting these form of thought provoking dark aspect . Old Cockeyed Door
I was down by the Highline in NYC on Thursday walking around pack pictures when I discern this old laughable room access on a building at 9th Avenue and Gansevoort Street . It await to be the original door from sometime in the middle of the twentieth Century . The guessing was taken with my Canon 5D Mark III with the 24 - 105 mm f/4L IS USM lens system . The shot was made in RAW format using Aperture priority , 4.0 aperture , 1/3 exposure compensation at 1/1000 shutter upper . photograph way is Landscape with Auto bloodless balance . ISO speed of 200 with manual AF area prize mode focusing . I processed the film in Lightroom 6 CC to even out the look , crop away some distracting areas and add a petty sharpening .

Chelsea
In Chelsea ’s picture gallery dominion , there are also a few effect spaces that master of ceremonies pop - up events . This is one such slur , either close down down or await to open up for an event from AOL . It seems pretty minded too , as in the general publicy ’s eye AOL is a unopen - down society that people forget still exists , which is depicted here .

Lonely Door
Just a lone door down a long subject hallway , with the lights on , in the day sentence . It ’s one of the room access I see at workplace from time to time . I was a piffling more transfixed with the long walkway leading to that “ lonely ” door but … t’was a threshold challenge . Used my Sony RX-100_ISO 125_1/60sec_F 1.8 . Messed around with line and brightness just for that “ lomo ” looking . Kinda shrunk down the pixel number too much .

The Dom
This is a shot from one of the front doors at the Dom in Cologne . My wife and I had some menage and town , so we resolve to make a quick outpouring to Cologne with them to enjoy some tasty Kolsch beer . Long Island City
On Friday I take a short trip to Long Island City to get some beautiful shots of the urban center . It had just finished raining and there was a thick maudlin daze hanging over the metropolis . On my way back to my car I noticed this door drenched in graffiti and I just had to take a picture of it . There was n’t that much sunlight that day , but I think it help to fetch out the colors . This was occupy on my iPhone 6 Plus at an exposure time of 1/670 sec , F2.2 and ISO 32 .

Raw Suburbia
One of the many abandoned family my booster and I have encountered . prissy size exclusive trading floor firm that was probably built in the ‘ XL . I really drudge woodwind panelling so I recollect that ’s one reason I like this guessing . It ’s appear into the den domain from what was believably a dining way . Gritty raw photography is what I love and ends up what I tear mostly . sprout on a Canon ae-1 35 mm with 400 celluloid

The Incheon International drome in South Korea is make out for its innovative blueprint and futuristic tech , but as I passed by this doorway it becomes unmistakable that Korea has n’t forgotten the beauty of its past tense . Shot freehand with a 10 mm wide angle lens on a CanonT3i .

Phetchaburi
walk around the sure-enough town of Phetchaburi in South Central Thailand I found just the door that I wanted . Unfortunately I had camera separation issue . I hold up back later in the afternoon to find a world restore his motorcycle just where I wanted to shoot . He was not probable to move for some time . So this is my 2nd good option . Phetchaburi is a nice twenty-four hours trip from Bangkok and is famous as the prefer summer home of a former King of Thailand and the source of a sweet that comes in a small square tin alike in taste and grain to baked custard . It also has a cave with an altar at the bottom and a hollow in the ceiling that lets in the sunshine that latterly made one of the many “ top 10 places ” list .
A little fleck of cropping to remove an horrifying rap and pipe running down the bulwark . Shot on a SONY Alpha5000 with a 16 - 50 mm short zoom . f/5.6 , 1/80 2nd , ISO-400 , No Emily Price Post output other than the cropping .

Washington State Capitol
I work across the street from the Washington commonwealth Capitol Building building , which I forecast would have the some of the fanciest doors in town . This is one of the front ( North facing ) doors . The Washington State Virtual Campus Tour describes the doors as “ monumental bronze doors with bas - rest representations of early Washington State Department history , admit a sailing vas , lumber activity , natural landscapes and the Territorial Capitol . ”

Almost Spain
I care I could say that I took this while strolling through Spain on a picture taking sabbatical , snapping away between sips of Rioja …… but this door just happens to be at the faraway and exotic sharpness of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills . It was spotted while take the air the dog and get word it in the early morning lighter made me take hold of the camera I have with me most often : an iPhone 5 .

Montsalvat
I was looking for an self-justification to get outside this weekend and came across this competition . Montsalvat is Australia ’s oldest creative person ’s community , build in 1934 . There was no dearth of fantastic doors here . I was spoiled for choice and honestly had a lot of problem deciding which charge to subject . I claim shots of 21 doors , and passably much roll the dice to reconcile on this one . I took around 20 shot from different angles , and this one is importantly cropped . I used Snapseed for all edits , include the handy transform tool , which warp the photograph and can deal up linear perspective problems .

Cross Boutique
At dwelling house in west hollywood there ’s this English ivy enshroud boutique around the corner from my morning coffee shop . The side door on the construction offered some prissy contrast for this photo with a bright unripened ivy wall against a cold alloy room access . The setting sun twinkle hit against the metallic element creating a moment of glare at the top of a graffiti cross that marks the construction . I ’m shoot with a Fuji X - Pro1 and Zeiss Touit 32 millimetre lens , f/8.0 , 1/160 sec , 400 ISO .

Izola
Going back to my hometown ( Izola , Slovenia ) I was very happy about the dependent matter of this week ’s shoot challenge . Since this is a quaint town on the Slovenian coast , I was expecting to get many chances for fritter doors . Indeed I got them , after about 3 hr walk around ( on 2 days ) I ended up with about 15 nominee , the bragging issue being lighting . The afternoon is not a good time to blast around town , since all the street are really tiny and do not allow much luminosity in , you constantly terminate up with a shadow . notice this bead in a side street . deplorably the car in front of it foreclose me from receive a good gibe . Shot on a Canon D70 with an EF - S 18 - 135 mm IS STM f/5.6 1/400s at 100 ISO with a focal length of 24 mm .

Druid Door
While the engravings are pretty capricious , one has to wonder about how / why this threshold was create and impractical the giantism is . Must be exert by druids 😉
Tried the principle of thirds approach , but portrait angle found the mystery and get the detail upright IMHO . Fuji T-1 , Zeiss Touit 12 mm , F 7.1 , ISO 3200 , 1/250 shutter , Post in Lightroom 6
