Like Rachel McAdams , Mads Mikkelsen ’s character name has been keep under wraps . He does look to be the cinema ’s major villain , who is rumour to beDormammu . What we do know is that he breaks aside from the Ancient One to form his own religious sect . His first coming into court in the drone also give us our first existent mindbending look at what might be how this moving-picture show conveys other realm . Strange voiceovers , “ Why are you doing this ? ”

We know fromconcept artthat this is him in his ill-famed Sanctum Sanctorum back home in New York . Note the symbol of Vishanti ( which are the witching beingness who grant magical world power in the comics universe ) on the windowpane .
The two - moment trailer is remarkable in that we see a lot of things , but no existent plot information is revealed . Everything is stuff we know has to happen : the car collapse , the ruin operative career , and then the requisite enlisting and breeding by the Ancient One . What Mikkelsen ’s character ’s name and plan is stay secret . In fact , no one who is n’t Cumberbatch or Swinton get more than a few seconds of screen time .
