While the cap is buy the farm on at some point today , it ’ll be another 48 hours or so until we in reality know if it ’s working . During that time , BP will conduct pressure tests to determine how much oil colour the cap is collecting . If successful , it could contain up to 80,000 barrels a day , compared to the current system ’s 25,000 . If not , it ’s back to the drawing board .
