This picture might look like some kind of tacky holiday decoration , but in fact it ’s what you get if you manage to photograph a paint - brood balloon just msec after it ’s popped .
The image was captured byFabian Oefner , who covered molding balloons with thick stratum of acrylic key and then snarl plenty of trope just after he popped then using a phonograph needle . When the balloon explodes it thrust the rouge in all directions — some of it blend to create beautiful new shapes and shade . Oefner explain :
“ What I peculiarly lie with about the images is that , if you seem closely , you could see how the individual shade start to meld with each other . Blue and Battle of Magenta becomes purple , red and scandalmongering becomes orange … within a few microseconds , the paint form into the most beautiful coloration combining … and then it ’s blend again . ”
