My ally Matthias Bruggman is a freelance photographer , jetting around the world to take pictures of various interesting things , unremarkably in the company of writers and other journalists . Strangely , film cameras were permit on control board , and Matthias was told he could bring batteries and his camera cup of tea ( despite those being just as likely to hold explosive or something grave ) . Update : So far my communications with El Al has yielded only the data that their only insurance policy is one carry on bagful per person ( plus a bag for women ) that must be able to fit under the seat and “ We do not discuss security . ” Granted , this is from the Puerto Rico federal agency , but when I asked if they even had a catch - all “ We reserve the right wing to ban anything from the flight for any reason ” insurance policy , I was narrate that they do not discuss security , nor could I mouth to an executive in that section .
I think we all agree that El Al should do whatever they find is necessary to protect their flight — I just care they ’d secern client what those rules will are so we can plan accordingly .
