Produced by and co - starring District 9 star Sharlto Copley , Hardcore Henry open in theater April 8 . As the interview , you ’re Henry , a mysterious man who has been fitted with some form of cyborg parts and superhuman power . You ’re then forced to go on the run and solve the mystery of how it all happened . That ’s going to require you to vote down a whole lot of people in a whole lot of different way . For 90 minute , Hardcore Henry pretty much does n’t end , and this trailer is just the half of it .
Directed by Ilya Naishuller , Hardcore Henry had its premiere last year at the Toronto International Film Festival ( under its original championship , Hardcore ) and it ’ll play South by Southwest in March before the April 8 release .
It ’s one of those movies that , love it or detest it , you are absolutely dumbfounded that the filmmakers were able to carry through the thought in such a seamless , impressive way .
