In a new interview with lifestyle and culture magazineMr Feelgood, published on Friday, Sapong reflected on a “near-death experience” with a brain tumor earlier this year and the resulting gestures of kindness from celebrity friends, family and others that made him feel “overwhelmed.”
The same day, Jonas reposted the new article on his Instagram Story with a heart emoji. UnderMr Feelgood’s Instagram post on the new interview, theJonas Brotheragain shared his support for Sapong.
In the article, Sapong said that he had been “absolutely overwhelmed” after a huge number of people extended their support for him — which included the Jonas Brother —with contributions to a GoFundMeafter he had to undergo surgery to remove the tumor in June.

Sapong was first diagnosed with the brain tumor back in June, when he noticed a “pulsating banging in my head.” After heading to the hospital, he said he found out that he had a pituitary tumor that had burst and had to be removed.
“The awareness of the severity was live or die. And I’m here thinking, ‘I know what my choice is.’ I’m looking at my wife and my son, and I can hear them. Zion’s practically turned into me, and me into my dad,” he toldMr Feelgoodof his father, who died a year earlier.

“I’ve learned that the beauty and the miracle of life is for living, being grateful, giving thanks; in terms of having a beautiful, loving, caring wife, and having these wonderful boys who I see are also about caring and sharing,” Sapong said in theMr Feelgoodinterview. “And then seeing the same thing with my brothers and my mother. The way that this has affected everybody.”
On his Instagram, Sapong has regularly posted details of his work with A-listers, includingGwendoline Christie,Taylor Russelland several posts of his work with Craig.

In the Friday interview, Sapong also explained toMr Feelgoodthat his experiences have helped him look to the future.
“I think that my dad passing away last year and this happening to me almost at the same time the following year, it’s all connected,” he said. “I believe that. So this is for me to now utilize. The baton had been passed over. He’d given me his shoes. What am I going to do with it? I know now.”
