“I wore blue to this year’s Oscars to pay homage to my introduction to Hollywood 10 years ago,” she captioned a carousel of images of her at the Oscars in 2014 — when she won a Best Actress in a Supporting Role award for her performance in12 Years a Slave— and at the event in 2024.

“What was fresh then may be familiar now, but I believe in the power of harnessing childlike wonder at every stage of life,” theBlack Patherstar’s post continued. “I am so grateful to have won back then, and to still be receiving opportunities to attend again to celebrate my peers’ performances.”
