Steven Yeunand Joana Pak were meant to be.
The couple first met through a mutual friend in Chicago and eventually reconnected a year later during a chance run-in.
“She walked into the bar where I was a really shitty bartender, and it was kismet,” theNopeactor toldMartha Stewart Weddings. “After that, I saw her every day for six months.”
After doing long-distance as Yeun filmedThe Walking Dead, the couple eventually got engaged in August 2015.
In December 2016,the two tied the knotduringan intimate wedding at Los Angeles' ParamourEstate in front of family and friends, including a handful of Yeun’sTWDcostars. Since then, Yeun and Pak have started a family of their own, welcoming two children.
More recently, Yeun has been open aboutwhat Pak means to him, calling her his “strength” when he accepted the award for best actor in best limited series, anthology series or motion picture made for television for his role inBeefat the2024 Golden Globeawards.
“I’m just so thankful. I’m just the recipient of a long line of compassion and love and protection and goodwill, so I appreciate this,” he said, adding, “Joana, I love you. You are my strength.”
