A Texas school employee has gone missing and authorities suspect possible foul play after the woman’s friend received several alarming texts.

Jennnifer Mendez Olascoaga, a teacher’s assistant with the Dallas Independent School District, was last seen in late September, before her family reported her missing to the Seagoville Police Department on Sunday.

Olascoaga’s brother-in-law Marco Barroso toldWFAA,The Dallas Morning NewsandCBS Texasthat as the family was filing the police report, they were forwarded ominous text messages about the 24-year-old from a friend of hers. Olascoaga’s last known location was with this friend, who is not named in the reports.

A part of the text messages, shared with the news outlets, asks if the recipient is missing someone, according to Barroso. “You’ll never find her, and you know you’ll never see her again,” reads the text.

“She’s gone. Jennifer Mendez and you’re next,” another excerpt of the texts read,The Dallas Morning Newsreports.

The Seagoville Police Department acknowledged the text messages ina social media statementbut did not disclose any details about the content of the messages.

“These text messages contained content that would lead one to believe that Jennifer’s disappearance may involve foul play,” said the statement, which was posted on the department’s Facebook page on Tuesday.

According to the statement from Seagoville police, family members claim Olascoaga’s vehicle was last seen with a surveillance camera on Sept. 27 at a mobile home park where she was dropping off the friend who would later receive the mysterious text messages. Family members then discovered Olascoaga’s car a day later in Mesquite, Texas, which is about five miles from the park.

Barroso told WFAA that “someone did something to her,” because she was not likely to leave behind her wallet, which they found inside her car.

“We tried calling her phone, it was off. Her phone is never off," Barroso said.

An investigation is ongoing.
